This 8 day eBike cycling tour starts in Dublin City Centre and takes you along the County Wicklow Irish Sea Coast and then inland picking up the Wicklow Way Walking Route in Tinahely before offering you the choice of Mountain Route through the Wicklow National Park or meander through the lower Wicklow Hills and towns back to Dublin City

Itinerary

Day 1:  Arrival into and overnight in Dublin

From your arrival into Dublin you will take public transport to your first night accommodation in Irelands Capital City. 

Day 2: Dublin to Wicklow Town

In the morning after your breakfast you will collect your bikes in Dublin City Centre and you can take one of two options for your first day on the ebike.

2 Options:

Option 1: Cycling from the city centre you will take a route through the coastal suburbs of South County Dublin to the seaside town of Bray and continuing the coastal roads of county Wicklow make your way to your first overnight in the seaside charming town of Wicklow

Distance 55Km Total Assent: 347m

Option 2: After collecting the ebikes if you don’t want to cycle out of the city you can take the dart (light rail service) to Bray and cycle to Wicklow along the coast road:

Distance: 30KM Total Assent: 168m

Day 3: Wicklow to Tinahely

Coast road to Arklow then inland via Avoca/meetings to Tinahely  – 51km

From your accommodation in Wicklow Town you will continue along coastal roads and past the beaches of Brittas Bay and Arklow Town from where you will begin to make your journey inland via the Vale of Avoca and the Meetings of the Waters using minor roads to the charming market village of Tinahely along the Wicklow Way.

Distance: 59KM Total Assent: 489m

Day 4: Tinahely to Laragh/Glendalough (Wicklow Way)

Option 1: Low Route via Aughrim/Macreddin/Rathdrum/Avonmore Way/Clara Laragh – 44km Easy/Moderate

Setting out from Tinahely you will travel along minor roads through the towns of Aughrim and Rathdrum as well as the village of Laragh and the Vale of Clara before ending in the beautiful valley of Glendalough where you will have the afternoon to explore the monastic city of Glendalough and it majestic lakes

Distance: 46km Total Assent 550m

Option 2: High Route via Moyne/Aughavanagh/Glenmalure/Laragh – 40km Moderate/Strenuous

The high route option takes you through the heart of the Wicklow Mountains over a number of Pass roads through the mountains, you will on route to Glendalough have the opportunity to lunch and recharge in the beautiful valley of Glenmalure before the challenging “Shay Elliot” climb into Laragh Village.

Distance: 44km Total Assent 850m

Day 5: Laragh/ to Enniskerry (Wicklow Way)

Option 1: Low Route via Laragh East/Lough Dan/Roundwood/Lough Tay/Powerscourt/Enniskerry

Today you will travel mostly on minor roads near or along the Wicklow Way past the lakes of Lough Dan and the beautiful “Guninness Lake” of Lough Tay before travelling via Roundwood Lakes to Enniskerry where you can visit both Powerscourt Waterfall & Gardens if you wish before your evening in Enniskerry.

Distance 42km Total Assent 694m

Option 2: High Route: Laragh/Glenmacnass Waterfall/ Lough Tay(or Glencree 38KM)/ Enniskerry – Very Strenuous

Leaving the valley of Glendalough you will be attempting the strenuous but beautiful Sally Gap Route through the Wicklow Mountains National Park passing the waterfall at Glenmacnass and the “Guinness Lake” of Lough Tay in Luggala. You will have the opportunity to Re-Charge in Roundwood before continuing around the Roundwood Lakes on route to Enniskerry.

Distance 70 km Total Assent 1100m

Day 6: Enniskerry to Dublin

Enniskerry/Stepaside/Dublin 21km

On your final day on the ebike you will travel into Dublin City via the cycle route into Stepaside and Dundrum and you will be able to explore the city by ebike before returning them in the evening and the overnight celebrations in Dublin City.

Distance: 20km Assent 110m
